Delete your OPARKO account
You can ask us to delete your OPARKO account and the personal data linked to it. This page explains who is responsible, how to delete your account in the app or through the form below, what we remove, what we have to keep by law, and how long it takes.
The app and who is responsible
The OPARKO app lets you pay for parking, manage permits and handle parking-control cases. The data controller is OPARKO, Trindsoevej 4, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark, CVR 37127485, e-mail service@oparko.com. This page covers accounts you created yourself in the OPARKO app. If your account was set up for you by your employer or a parking operator, contact them, as they manage it.
Delete your account in the app
If you are signed in to the OPARKO app, you can start the deletion there:
- Open the OPARKO app and go to your profile.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm with your password to finish the request.
If you cannot sign in, or your app does not yet show Delete account, use the form below instead. Both routes reach the same team.
Request deletion through this page
Fill in the form at the bottom of this page. Use the same email address as your OPARKO account so we can find it. To protect your data we may contact you to confirm your identity before we act on the request.
What we delete or anonymise
When we complete your request, we remove or anonymise the personal data that identifies you, including:
- your profile: name, email, username and phone number
- the vehicles (registration numbers) saved to your account
- your saved payment cards, which we also cancel with our payment provider
- your push-notification setup and notification history
What we keep, and why
Some records cannot be deleted straight away because the law or an open case requires us to keep them. These are retained only for as long as needed and are no longer tied to your profile where possible:
- Receipts and accounting records: kept for 5 years from the end of the financial year, as the Danish Bookkeeping Act requires.
- Permits and parking-control cases: a permit or a parking-control case (a fee) and its vehicle registration number are kept for as long as needed to administer parking and settle any outstanding case.
- Payments already made: completed charges stay on record so both sides have proof of the transaction.
How long it takes
We respond to deletion requests within 30 days. If a request is unusually complex we may need longer, and we will tell you if that is the case. Any unpaid parking-control cases are still due even after the account is deleted.
Submit a deletion request
Your request goes to our data-protection team at security@oparko.com. Erasure is preselected; add your account email and any detail that helps us find your data.
